JOB DUTIES & CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Must have extensive experience in residential construction (Ontario preferred)
  • Able to read and interpret drawings
  • Understand all rules, regulation, policies and local building code (Ontario)
  • Must be prepared to work under pressure and self-motivation to his work
  • Ability to supervise 20 people or less
  • Enforce company’s policy regarding the safety work environment and quality procedure
  • Coordinate construction schedule and make sure the tasks and project are completed on time
  • Control the delivery of material on site
  • Identify, investigate, correct and document potential construction and safety problems
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Ensure the efficient use of labor, machines and materials used by the crew
  • Manage on site client communications and change request reporting
  • Monitor job progress and provide regular progress reporting to management
  • Manage administration activities including; timekeeping and safety reporting
  • Review and verify paperwork such as daily site logs, schedule updates, delivery receipts and packing slips, hours of service, etc.
  • Inspect the quality of work

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Full Driver’s Licence
  • WHMIS
  • First Aid
  • Clean background/credit checks
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Own basic tools, for everyday use
  • Willing to work on projects both North of Toronto and within the city

JOB DUTIES & CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Studying specifications in blue prints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
  • Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or power saws
  • Ability to organize assigned tasks for completion in the most efficient manner
  • Anticipate issues and correct them as they occur; creatively problem solve
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations while maintaining a neat and clean working area
  • Wood and steel stud framing
  • Fitting and installing window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim
  • Installing custom architectural fixtures, cabinets, countertops, trim and other fixtures used in commercial spaces, using hand tools, machines or power saws
  • Removing damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with machines, power saws and tools, including electric and pneumatic hand tools
  • Experience working with equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts and forklifts
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, materials and use
  • Skilled in reading and understanding blueprints, plans and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule as well as work in a team environment
  • High accuracy in work with strong attention to detail to meet quality control standards
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability is required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 or more years of progressive experience in general contracting specific to mechanical projects.
  • Mechanical technical background required.
  • Business development experience considered an asset.
  • Experience in supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction activities to ensure consistent completion of projects on-time, on budget and to the clients’ satisfaction.
  • Experience with leadership, field management, problem-solving, delivering results and developing team members.

  • Identify, assess and manage risks associated with assigned projects

  • At least 3 years of related experience working with a General Contractor on Nuclear projects
  • Knowledge and experience with estimating techniques, tendering process and negotiating contracts as it relates to the Nuclear industry
